Streamlining Your Personal Financial Documents

Every week you introduce more paper into your home, in the form of newspapers, magazines, flyers, coupons, schoolwork, correspondence, bills, and other documents. It may or may not be difficult for you to ensure that reading material and advertising is discarded when you are finished with it, but when it comes to financial documents, it can be much more challenging to determine what you need to keep, and what you can toss. Here are a few simple guidelines.

Discard credit and debit card receipts and bank slips once the item has cleared your account, except in the following circumstances.

a) You will be claiming the expense on your income tax return. All supporting documentation must be retained for a designated period of time in case of an audit. You should check with your local tax authorities if you're not sure what the regulation is where you live.

b) The item is under warranty, in which case you may be required to provide proof of purchase in the event of a claim.

c) The item is expensive and unique, and you will require proof of purchase in case of an insurance claim.

It is important that the requests being filed under the appropriate heading (Tax, Warranties, or Insurance) so you do not waste time looking for what you need when it's time to make a claim or file your income taxes. These events can be stressful enough, so why make it even more frustrating for yourself?

If you are holding onto receipts simply as a reference of your expenses, considering entering the information into a software program such as Quicken or Microsoft Money. This will not only free your home of some of the paper, it will allow you to easily track your income and expenses and to quickly look up any needed information. These programs will also help you to keep track of your current account balances and upcoming bills and to create and track a personal budget.

If you do not want to buy and learn a new software program, you can enter your information into a spreadsheet or database program instead. Other options would be to type the information into a word processor, or to manually enter it into a paper ledger book, but neither of these will give you the reporting power of a financial software program.

When discarding the documents you no longer need, it is highly recommended that they are shredded to avoid the risk of identity theft. This is especially important when dealing with financial documents which may include account numbers as well as your name and address.

Unless you are claiming the expense on your income tax, utility bills and the like can be discarded after a year, as can bank and credit statements. Most companies will not make adjustments if an error is not reported within that time.

By following these simple guidelines, you will reduce the paper clutter in your home, the amount of space you require for your filing system, and the stress and frustration of wasting time searching for the documents you need.

How SMS Marketing Could Benefit Your Business

The use of SMS marketing in B2C is becoming a popular way to advertise to consumers through their mobile phones. Businesses normally approach mobile phone providers to send off content using SMS (short message service) messages to mobiles. SMS texts can be received by all mobiles making SMS marketing extremely invasive but also effective. The key from a B2B perspective is to find the right balance and use this marketing channel in the right circumstances.

SMS marketing can also be sent through platforms capable of SMS broadcasting such as vMail. The areas where SMS can be of use vary greatly between industries. Mobile phone providers themselves use this method to encourage subscribers to upgrade their service and to let them know about seasonal promotions. People can also subscribe to SMS advertisements and promotions through their phone to receive SMS alerts whenever something new is posted from for example an online retailer.

The automation of parts of the sales cycle is one area where SMS marketing can help out at a B2B level. By allowing users to sign up for newsletters, competitions or updates through their phone, a business can reach audiences that might not engage through traditional marketing channels. By building a list of phone numbers, a company can begin to do promotions or update their target market on new items relevant to their audience. They can send out a mass text message to all the customers that have signed up on a certain date and are due for renewal of their contract.

SMS marketing can unlike billboards, television advertisements and magazine advertisements reach anyone wherever they are. Most people have their phones on them at all hours of the day and will check their phones if they receive an SMS message alert. This allows for a very quick response on campaigns. For example, Walls ice-cream teamed up with o2 very recently using SMS marketing combined with thermal mapping. Walls were able to send SMS messages to people that were in areas of a certain temperature.

One of the key components of an SMS campaign is that the person who is targeted must be able to opt out of the advertising or opt out of their subscription to the advertising. Usually this is done by sending a stop message the SMS. This stop code allows people to stop receiving these advertisements should they no longer want the product and it is a requirement for creating a SMS marketing campaign.

Many phone providers and SMS companies will allow small businesses to buy runs of SMS advertising. This is where a company can pay for just a short code or small run of advertising. SMS marketing can then be tailored for just about any budget and also targeted to phones based on local registration and local telephone service providers.

SMS marketing is a great tool that can be used to help businesses grow and extend the reach to alternative target markets, no matter where they are.

Aerial Advertising Cost

Have you wanted to make a unique impression on someone? Do you want to announce something and want to get the most mileage of out it? Welcome to the world of aerial advertising. Be mobile, flexible, and definitely creative!

In a world where people are constantly bombarded with messages and advertisements, one needs to rise above the rest to get noticed. With aerial advertising, get messages across to hundreds of thousands of people in the shortest time possible. Specialized companies handle this kind of advertising. Boasting of well maintained equipment, efficient pilots and security clearances, aerial advertising companies might just be what you need.

These aircraft can basically fly over busy freeways, fairs, concerts, parks, public places, stadiums, parades, races, concerts, and the beach. For the romantic at heart, would not you be thrilled to be greeted with an "I Love You" or "Happy Anniversary" message across the sky for everyone to see. For companies interested to announce an upcoming event or a new service, would not this be an exciting way to reach the most people in a unique fashion?

Messages may come in different forms. Aircrafts carry messages in one of the following forms: aerial billboards in different sizes, hand painted or computer printed, with a capacity to carry 7 feet of letters; letter banner tail flag, hand painted, adapted to fit any size of letter. Skywriting, also known as "sky smoke" allows a message many names long to be seen by the gambling public. Even at night, messages can be seen in sky through a set of moving lights. Totally fascinated by this view, people are forced to read them out of curiosity.

But would the price be too much? For the aircraft alone, minimum charge is at $ 400 for a half hour exposure. Messages visible at night cost a lot more. However, most aerial companies offer a total package including cost of operation, plane, pilots, ground crew, and production. Would it be worth advertising this way? Consider this. Aerial advertising is a powerful tool reaching thousands of people in such a short time. For a minute or so, it captures the undivided attention of the public once messages are visible on air. It has a high recall and creates a lasting impression. In fact, it costs less than $ 5 per thousand of people making it more cost effective than print media.
